Film is for everyone.

A film lessons is great for date nights, family nights, photographers of all skill levels, young and old. All necessary supplies are included in your lesson. Just show up and have fun!

No film camera? No worries, we've got a wide selection to choose from. Pick an easy one for worry-free shooting, or an advanced one to hone your skills.

Choose your experience.

Get out and shoot! A great place to start-this gets you out to experiment with film. Choose from a variety of cameras if you don't already have one. Your experience will include:


  • A one-hour lesson
  • A roll of black and white film with 36 shots
  • How to load a roll of film
  • How to use and adjust a film camera
  • How to compose black and white images on film
  • No need to worry about developing and scanning, we'll take care of it for you!




Price is per package, not per person, so bring a friend or two!

Package 1

Develop your film, develop your skills! This package includes all of Package 1 plus:


  • A 30-minute film developing lesson
  • How to unload your film
  • How to put film in a developing tank
  • How to develop film using darkroom chemistry
  • All chemicals and supplies included!



Your negatives will be mailed to you and digital scans will be sent to your email.

Package 2

A fledgling film photographer's dream! Package 3 includes all of Package 1 and 2 plus:


  • A full darkroom experience
  • A 1-hour lesson on darkroom techniques
  • How to use an enlarger
  • How to create a contact sheet
  • How to print a film photo
  • Full use of darkroom chemistry
  • Up to 10 sheets of 8X10 darkroom printing paper

FAQ

How do I book a mentorship?

Booking is easy! Just click one of the buttons above, let me know the date you are interested in as well as how many people in your group if you are doing a group mentorship.

 

How do I pay?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash, Venmo, ApplePay, or PayPal.

 

Where do we shoot?

 

That's up to you! If you have a place in mind, we can meet you there. Not sure where to go? We have a few places that offer beautiful landscapes or cityscapes and are easy to access. Your payment includes up to 50 miles of travel. Additional travel will increase the price.

 

Can I bring my own camera?

Schedule any available time slot Monday through Friday between 4-9PM. Saturdays are typically available all day.


June-August hours are 10AM-9PM

 

When can we shoot?

Yes! We would love to teach you on your won camera so that you can continue shooting film on your own!

 

Will we use a darkroom?

All packages are per session, not per person. If more than one roll of film is needed, it will be added to the price of your lesson ($10 per roll). We kindly request no more than 10 people per session.

 

How long does a lesson usually last?

Depends on the package and amount of people, but here's generally how long to plan on:

Package 1: 1-2 hours

Package 2: 2-2.5 hours

Package 3: 4 hours across two separate days.

 

How many people can join?

Yes and no. Package 3 requires use of the darkroom to teach film printing (subject to availability). Package 2 can be done with a mobile darkroom wherever we happen to be shooting.
